Yes, this beautiful object is indeed the back of a spider
Like many of you, I usually don't like spiders too much, but isn't this one rather cute with its white beard and whiskers?
It looks very impressive on these photos, but it is in reality a very small creature, just 3/8" long. I am almost ready to adopt it as pet now that I know it better through these close-up photos... That is, as long as it agrees to stay on the balcony and doesn't decide to settle instead in my bedroom.... :)
